About the project

Located in the grounds of Swords Castle, Swords, Co. Fingal.

As part of the restoration of Swords Castle, we were commissioned in 2008 to design, fabricate & install a series of new stained glass windows as per early 14th Century style for the chapel at the front of the castle grounds.

The project comprised of four large aisle windows based on the Four Evangelists, a larger Jesse Tree window situated behind the Altar. In order to develop a thorough appreciation of the early C14th style, we researched design styles and windows through site visits to study the collections of medieval stained glass at Chartres Cathedral, France and Liverpool Museum.
